Parenting Resource or Tip: It's HARD to get out of the house for a date night when you have a baby! Check out these tips from the Dating Divas on easy-to-prep date nights at home. A little cheesy, but fun nonetheless! ;)
Baby Signs to Use: I Love You, Red, Heart
Baby Songs to Sing: You are My Sunshine, and sing these words to the tune of "BINGO" for a Valentine's song: There is a shape; it stands for love, And "heart" is its name. H-E-A-R-T, H-E-A-R-T, H-E-A-R-T, And "heart" is its name.
Quick and Easy Recipe: Cut mozzarella cheese for caprese into hearts – a Valentine’s dinner doesn’t need to be fancy!! :)
Developmental Play Tip: Babies (particularly those 0-4 months) are naturally attracted to faces - so that they connect with a caregiver early on. Multiple studies have shown that babies look longer at faces than other imagery, and even looked longer at 3 dots when they were arranged in the shape of a face than when they were in a random pattern! Take advantage of this by creating a book of family members' faces, or read books that have real pictures of people/baby faces! To make my own board books, I really like www.pintsizeproductions.com. You can also get those small, cheap plastic photo albums and just insert your own prints!
Today's Topic: VALENTINE'S DAY FOOTPRINT CRAFT
Today we did our Valentine's Day footprint craft and had our Nest swap meet. If you were absent, we will keep the things for a footprint craft in our room next week - just let us know that you need your footprint done!
Thank you for contributing to our Nest swap meet! Not only did some moms go home with some new fun goodies, but we also were able to donate boxes and bags of formula, diapers, clothes, and more to women and children in domestic abuse or foster care situations! Our donation was made to Baby Buddha's Closet. Thank you so so much for spreading the love, participating, and doing something good for our community this Valentine's Day. :)
This is the section of the recap where I will give you all of the info brought up during check-in time from all of our 0-12 month Mommy and Me classes so that you can have the most resources possible!!
